The Focus V Carta Sport is a portable e-rig for concentrates: a battery, atomizer, and water-filtered glass all in one, perfect for use at home or on the go. It's the successor to the Carta 2, with a larger battery, a single button instead of a display, and a removable silicone vapor path for cleaning. The V Browser app lets you adjust the temperature and duration of your session; with the herb atomizer, sold separately, you can also use it with plant material.
Who is the Focus V Carta Sport for?
- Who wants a complete e-rig, without having to pair separate glass, nail and battery.
- For those who appreciate fine control: five presets from the button and custom settings from the app.
- Those coming from a Cart2-glasses Cart2- CartSport
- Those who do frequent sessions and want a battery that can handle many sessions between charges.
- For those who care about cleanlinesssteam path CARTcan be removed and washed separately.
Less suitable if… you want to read the temperature on a display directly on the device (the Carta Sport doesn't have one) or you're looking for something truly pocket-sized: with the glass mounted it remains an object for your bag or table.
One of the best vaporizers for consuming concentrates, easy to maintain and packed with technology.
Design and materials
The base of the Carta Sport has an ergonomic shape and is covered with a silicone grip , offering a secure hold. In place of the screen on the Carta 2, there's a single "V" button with colored LEDs: with different numbers of presses, you can turn it on, select a preset, start a session, and check the battery.
The Intelli-Core atomizer and the smoked borosilicate , CARTA Glass which holds water to cool and filter the vapor, are mounted on the top. Between the base and the glass is the CARTA CONNECT , a removable 100% silicone vapor path. It has channels inside that collect debris, keeping the glass and base cleaner. The Bubble Cap , a carb cap held in place by a strap so it won't get lost, sits on top of the atomizer
Focus V confirms that the Carta 2 glasses are fully compatible with the Carta Sport. Vibration feedback signals the start of the session and when the temperature is reached.
Heating and temperature profiles
Heating is handled by the Intelli-Core Oil, which Focus V describes as having intelligent heating across the entire surface of the chamber (“full-surface heating”).
From the button you can choose between five presets, each with a predefined temperature and session duration (values from the official manual, converted to degrees Celsius):
| Presets | Temperature | Session duration |
|---|---|---|
| Blue | about 249 °C | 60 seconds |
| Yellow | about 257 °C | 55 seconds |
| Green | about 268 °C | 50 seconds |
| Viola | about 279 °C | 45 seconds |
| Red | about 296 °C | 40 seconds |
The higher the temperature, the shorter the session. If a session feels short, pressing the button twice extends it by 10 seconds.
With theV Browser app (via Bluetooth), you can customize the temperature and duration. The manual recommends a range of about 185 to 335°C (365 to 635°F) for concentrates and sessions of 20 to 120 seconds. You can also update the firmware and track your sessions from the app.
Recommended strategy: Start with the blue preset, the lowest, which best preserves aromas and terpenes and produces smoother vapor. Move up to the next preset only if you want more density or if residue remains in the chamber. If you use the same settings often, save them as custom presets in the app.
Warm-up time: The Focus V does not display a time in seconds. According to the manual, the device vibrates when you start a session and vibrates again when the temperature is reached.
Atomizer and loading
The Intelli-Core Oil atomizer for concentrates is included in the box. The CartSport supports the entire Intelli-Core line, so you can alternate between different atomizers on the same base
- Recommended amount: According to the manual, between 0.1 and 0.3 g per session.
- Where to load: In the center of the chamber. The manual recommends not loading on the sides or near the top of the chamber.
- Tool: Use the included loading tool, then close with the Bubble Cap.
- Atomizer lifespan: This is a consumable component. The Focus V typically lasts 3-6 months, depending on usage and cleaning.
Is there a dry herb atomizer? Yes: it's theIntelli-Core Herb, which is not included in the kit and is purchased separately. The Carta Sport manual provides five presets for dry herb between approximately 171 and 210°C, all with 4-minute sessions, and a range between approximately 135 and 260°C, with sessions ranging from 120 to 240 seconds. With this accessory, the Carta Sport becomes a dual-use device, but it's primarily designed for concentrates.
Battery and charging
There is only one integrated battery : a 2700 mAh (7.4 V) Li-ion polymer , approximately 35% more capacious than the Cart2. The Focus V declares over 50 sessions on a single charge, data which depends on the presets, duration and extensions of the session.
It charges via USB-C with a 5V/2A power adapter. The Focus V claims faster charging than the Cart2, without specifying a time; the manual recommends not leaving it charging for more than 4 hours and never unattended.
To check the charge, press the button four times: green means at least 75%, blue at least 50%, yellow at least 25%, red at least 10%.
How to use: step by step
- charge your device before first use.
- Assemble the components: CARTA CONNECT on the base, Intelli-Core Oil atomizer in its seat and CARTA Glass on top.
- Add water to the glass: just enough to cover the steam path outlet, without exceeding the “Focus V” logo (limit indicated by Focus V).
- Turn it on by pressing the V button five times.
- Select the preset one press at a time; start with blue.
- Load 0.1-0.3g of concentrate into the center of the chamber and close with the Bubble Cap.
- Start the session with two presses: the device vibrates when it starts and again when it reaches temperature. Inhale with slow, steady draws; two more presses add 10 seconds, and one press stops the session.
- Once you've finished using it, turn it off with five presses and let it cool before removing the atomizer and glass.
Cleaning and maintenance
The manual recommends70% isopropyl alcohol; you'll also need cotton swabs and lint-free wipes. Never use abrasive or caustic cleaners.
- Atomizer, after each session: while the chamber is still warm, use a dry cotton swab to absorb residue. This prevents it from building up and burning in subsequent sessions.
- Atomizer, deep cleaning: When cold, remove the silicone parts, run an alcohol swab through the chamber and threads, then let the atomizer soak in the alcohol for about 5 minutes. Let it air dry completely before reassembling.
- Glass: When cold, empty the water and rinse with hot water; then fill it partially with isopropyl alcohol, close the openings, shake vigorously, rinse well and let dry.
- CARTA CONNECT: remove it and clean it with alcohol, insisting on the residue collection channels.
- Base: Just a lint-free wipe lightly moistened with alcohol. Do not soak or open.
Safety tips: Use the Carta Sport on a stable surface, do not touch the atomizer while it is hot, change the water after each use, and do not expose the device to liquids, direct sunlight, or extreme temperatures. If the taste deteriorates even after cleaning, the atomizer is likely at the end of its life.
Focus V Cartvs Sport compared
Focus V Cartat Sport vs Puffco Peak (2024)
The Puffco Peak is another all-in-one e-rig: a base, chamber, and water glass integrated with on-device temperature presets. The Carta Sport stands out for its removable silicone vapor path, fine-tuning via the app, and the option to attach an atomizer for dry herbs. If you're looking for a basic, tried-and-true experience, check out the Peak; if you want to customize temperature and time, or even use dry herbs, check out the Carta Sport.
Focus V Carta Sport vs Puffco Proxy
The Puffco Proxy is more compact and modular: the battery pairs with interchangeable glass pieces, making it easier to carry around. The Carta Sport is larger, but offers a battery designed for long sessions and a water-filtered glass piece as standard. The Proxy is for those who prioritize portability; the Carta Sport is for those who use the device primarily at home or with friends.
Focus V Carta Sport vs G Pen Hyer
The G Pen Hyer isn't a built-in e-rig, but rather an e-nail: a quartz chamber heater and cable that connects to your 14mm water pipe. It has five fixed settings between 250 and 450°C and a 6000mAh battery. The Carta Sport is a standalone device, with a glass tube included and app control. If you already have a glass tube you like, consider the Hyer; if you want everything in one, consider the Carta Sport.
You can see all the dedicated models in the concentrate vaporizers, including theAUXO Cenote.
The Intelli-Core Herb dry herb atomizer is not included.
Warranty and assistance
Focus V offers a 1-year limited warranty on the base of the CartSport 6-month limited warranty on the Intelli-Core atomizer, valid for the original purchaser with proof of purchase. This warranty excludes cosmetic damage, normal wear and tear, and misuse such as overcharging the atomizer, charging with unsupported power supplies (over 5V), filling the glass beyond the “Focus V” logo, or removing non-repairable parts.
Focus V has announced that even after the Cart2 is discontinued, Intelli-Core atomizers will remain available for years to come, and the Cart2 will continue to be supported by the V Browser app.
